PTE exam preparation
If you go through the ETS and British Council websites, you’ll see that they provide study materials to prepare you for TOEFL and IELTS, respectively. It’s the same for PTE. On the official website, you will find a Preparation tab, with options to help you study for Speaking & Writing, Reading, and Listening.
Under each section, you’ll see a description of the question types included, along with all details possible. These will involve Skills Assessed, Time to Prepare, Time to Answer, and even test tips. If that doesn’t feel enough, you can go through the Preparation Resources and Practice Tests on the PTE Website.
What’s more, the organization also provides courses and apps that you can use to prepare for the exam!
The PTE exam is in close competition with TOEFL and IELTS, but it has its benefits. Since the test is completely computerized for each section, you will get your results within just 5 business days. So, it’s best for students who are in a hurry to send their applications.
Moreover, the test is well-known for scoring your proficiency in English without any bias. And because the test is online, you can take it any time around the year. There are no restrictions about re-taking the exam either, as long as you register for your PTE test 5 days in advance.
The only thing you should be concerned about is this – does the university you wish to apply to accept PTE test scores. Now, since the PTE exam is just as widely known as other English proficiency tests for non-native English speakers, this should not be an issue. But it’s best to confirm with your university, just in case.
